In addition, investigations into the causes of frequent collisions of electric vehicles with slow-collision vehicles on national highways will be conducted.

The Transportation Committee of the Legislative Yuan today invited Lin Xinde, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Investigation Committee, to give a business report. Lin Xinde explained the progress of the investigation of major transportation accidents at the meeting. Among them, the Sino-Czech train accident had released a factual report in November last year, and it is expected to be in May this year. The final investigation report will be completed by the month.

On May 10 last year, a 2-car Zhongjie train was traveling from Beitun Terminal to Taichung High Speed ​​Rail Station. It was traveling between Fengle Park Station and Daqing Station at 12:27 noon when it hit the boom of a tower crane that fell off the track. , resulting in 1 death and 15 injuries.

In addition, on the morning of February 12 this year, a Taiwan Railway train bound for Jingtong from Badouzi, Keelung, derailed while passing through Lingjiao Station in New Taipei City. Fortunately, no one was injured. The Transportation Safety Committee released a preliminary report in February and is expected to release it in October. Factual information report, final investigation report will be completed in August next year.

There have been many cases of electric vehicles crashing into the highway bureau’s emergency vehicles on national highways. Although no one was injured, the emergency vehicles were damaged. The Transportation Security Council began an investigation last year. The first case occurred on the north-to-Taya section of National Highway 1. It is expected to release a factual report in July this year and complete the final investigation report in May next year.

Lin Xinde said that at the same time, four other similar cases have been collected and will be investigated together to clarify whether it is due to insufficient publicity, vehicle problems or driving operation problems.

Other major transportation accidents under investigation by the Transportation Security Council include: In November last year, a special vehicle for children of the Zhutang Township Office and a private passenger car collided at an intersection, resulting in 15 injuries. The final investigation report will be completed in May next year.

In March this year, the Kangqiao school bus overturned in the Wenshan Tunnel on the Xinyi Expressway in Taipei City, injuring more than 26 people. The final investigation report is expected to be completed in September next year; in March this year, the Fengman tour bus hit a national highway culvert on the Kaohsiung Water Pipe Road, killing one person. , 16 people were injured, and the final investigation report is expected to be completed in September next year.
