(Central News Agency reporter Cheng Aifen in Vancouver on the 20th) The Taiwanese Women’s Association of North America held its annual meeting in Vancouver for three consecutive days. The annual meeting was full of artistic and cultural atmosphere. Former chairman of the Council for Cultural Affairs Chen Yuxiu and the Bay Vocal Ensemble came to Canada specially to promote Taiwanese culture. Xu Jiaqing, chairman of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council, also said that Taiwan’s economic and cultural energy is huge, and today Taiwan is the Taiwan of the world.

The Women’s Association has always declined to allow politicians in office to participate in annual conference activities. Xu Jiaqing is the first participant to make an exception because she has been associated with the Women’s Association for more than 20 years, and this trip has the meaning of “returning to her parents’ home.”

Yesterday, she delivered a special speech titled “Taiwan Today, Taiwan in the World” and shared with hundreds of overseas Chinese present Taiwan’s outstanding results in multiple international competitions. She emphasized that Taiwan’s “three major chains” have attracted global attention, including: The island chain, industrial chain, and chain of democracy and freedom all occupy important pages in the world.

She told the Central News Agency: “Taiwan’s gender equality is the best in the world and the first in Asia. I am grateful to have so many outstanding mothers-in-law, sisters and sisters holding up the sky overseas and accumulating more energy to connect Taiwan and the world.”

Chen Yuxiu gave a speech today under the theme of “Brand Taiwan”, explaining that Taiwan has precious soft power, which is like a diamond. Its diverse ecology and multiculturalism are like the various facets of a diamond, and each side is crystal clear. “Diamond Taiwan” is the The foundation can build a shining brand and encourage overseas Chinese to polish the Taiwanese brand together.

Chen Huizhong, president of the Taiwanese Women’s Association of North America, is a heavyweight in the community and cultural circles. She immigrated to Canada from Taiwan and continues to promote the beauty of Taiwan to Canadian society through diversified humanistic activities. She told CNA: “We continue to tell Taiwan’s stories in Canada, making Taiwanese culture an indispensable little diamond in the multiculturalism of North America.”

Liu Lixin, director of the Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver, praised women for using a soft but powerful way to promote Taiwan. For example, this time, the “Bay Sound Ensemble” came to perform and let Canada know “Taiwanese classic music.” It is not easy. “This is a large classical orchestra that insists on playing original music based on Taiwan. I believe that through music, more Canadians will feel the charm of Taiwan.”

The theme of this year’s annual meeting is “Self-Knowledge and Confidence – Let the Love in Your Heart Fly.” Members of the 14 chapters in North America put their best efforts to show their confidence and vitality through singing, dancing, drama and other methods.

Liu Lingxia, president of the Northern California branch, who has become a grandma, said: “Time is not a problem. I can still sing and dance, and I can still do many things for Taiwan.”

Vancouver branch president Lin Yijun and vice president Huang Feilin are young members who joined the Women’s Association with their mothers. They said: “This is a legacy, and we will continue to work hard for Taiwan.” (Editor: Wei Shu) 1130421
