A bus carrying Taiwanese tourists collided with a truck on South Korea’s Jeju Island. The travel agency operator pointed out today that a total of 7 passengers were injured, and all of them have been discharged from the hospital and returned to the hotel. The Tourism Bureau also stated that it has asked travel agencies to properly handle passenger care matters and provide necessary assistance in due course.
South Korean media reported that a bus carrying Taiwanese tourists collided with a dump truck on Jeju Island in the morning. The driver and passengers on the bus were sent to hospital, including 34 Taiwanese tourists.
The group involved in the car accident was led by Lvtianxia United International Travel Agency. Lvtianxia issued a statement stating that the group set off on May 24 for a 4-day itinerary in Jeju Island. There were a total of 34 people including the team leader. They were violated in the east of Jeju Island this morning. The vehicle collided, and the emergency response mechanism was activated immediately, and the local local agency and staff in Jeju Island, South Korea provided necessary assistance.

The Tourism Bureau stated that the travel agency has purchased Cathay Pacific Century Property Insurance Travel Industry Liability Insurance (5 million yuan for accidental death, 200,000 yuan for accidental medical treatment) for this trip. It has asked the travel agency to properly handle passenger care matters and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner .
“Chosun Ilbo” and other Korean media reported that the Jeju East Police Station and the Jeju Fire Department received a report and learned that at around 10:30 a.m. local time, a taxi accident occurred near a crossroad on Shanhua Road, Chaocheon-eup, Jeju City. Collision between bus and dump truck.
The accident caused 36 people on the bus to be sent to the hospital, including 34 Taiwanese tourists, a tour guide and a bus driver; the truck driver in his 50s was also taken to the hospital.
The police said that it was initially confirmed that no one was seriously injured and that neither driver was drunk and driving.
