According to reports, the latest 14 overseas wallets covered by Alipay+ come from 9 countries or regions, including MPay in Macau, Changi Pay and OCBC Digital in Singapore, GCash and HelloMoney in the Philippines, Hipay in Mongolia, Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and Toss in South Korea, and Public Bank MyPB , Touch’n Go ewallet in Malaysia, TrueMoney in Thailand and Tinaba in Italy.
Li Yongshi, general manager of Ant International Business Greater China, said that users of these overseas wallets can use their local wallets to pay conveniently in Hong Kong, which will help the development of Hong Kong’s tourism industry. At present, overseas wallets are mainly supported by offline merchants and not by means of transportation. We plan to access more overseas e-wallets in the future. (over)
