On the 17th of last month, I wrote an article commenting on an organization called the “Hong Kong Poetry Society” selling advertisements in newspapers and publishing a bunch of bad poems. To be honest, I have long forgotten about such trivial matters. Unexpectedly, more than a month after the incident, today this organization suddenly published a “solemn statement” in Dakong Wenwei Po, calling this page “a malicious attack” and describing my article on the 17th as “trivial and lame, disgracefully polite; and the writing is indiscriminate.” Spraying indiscriminately, lest the evil intentions of Hong Kong’s instability be exposed.” (See the attached photo for the full text of the statement).

As the saying goes, “It’s better to pay homage to the mountain and speak first.” It’s been three weeks since the Qingming Festival, and I don’t even remember what I wrote. The “Hong Kong Poetry Society” has just issued a “solemn statement.” I suggest you change your name to “The Hong Kong Poetry Society” “Bar.

I just re-read my article “Replying Bad Editions of Guo Moruo in Hong Kong with Second Rhymes” (Note 1). Frankly speaking, I feel that the writing is already very gentle and sincere, because I just randomly picked a poem by Chairman Cai Ruiyi to comment on, not word for word. It is the utmost kindness to point out all the absurdities and absurdities. For example, Lam Fung, the founding president of the Hong Kong Poetry Society, wrote a preface to the advertisement on March 15, and finally said:

“Due to limited space, we have selected 43 songs to be published in Ta Kung Pao and Hong Kong Wen Wei Po to sing the great cause. This is our ambition!”

What does “big move” mean? The traditional Chinese word “big move” mostly means a large-scale raising of troops, such as “a large-scale rebellion.” Qi Jiguang’s poem “The Beacon Song” has “A large move if there are more than a thousand thieves, and the beacon will be spread a hundred miles away.” Li Ciming also has a poem that says “Renxu Five The moon thieves are moving in a big way, and the fire and arrows in the sky are like rain.” Now that you are “singing together”, what do you want to imply? Look again at the first two poems of your March 15th ad:

What is “Wild Fox Prison Sorrow”? I try to understand sympathetically. I guess you want to describe some political prisoners as “wild foxes”, but I’m sorry, that’s not how poetry is written, especially old-style poetry that uses very particular words. You have to have a reason for your metaphor. , it makes sense.

The word “wild fox” in old poems and articles usually refers to “wild fox Zen”, which is heresy. Using it to describe political prisoners is simply far-fetched. You can also say that “wild foxes” are mountain spirits and monsters, aiming to call certain people “demon”. But since they are monsters, how can they be imprisoned like humans? If your home is haunted, will you call the police? If there is an allusion to “a wild fox in jail”, I would like to hear the details; if not, this sentence is neither reasonable nor well-founded, and can be described as “trivial and lame”.

In the same way, “Playing the flute at night in Victoria Harbor” is also written in a “trivial and lame” way. I try to understand sympathetically, guessing that you want to use “blowing flute” as a metaphor for singing and dancing in a peaceful and prosperous age, but I’m sorry, that’s not how the poem is written. You want to use a metaphor to describe peace and quiet, good government and harmonious relations. In the appropriate context, you can talk about “Ming Qin” (using Mi Zi to treat a single father who is too humble to go down to the court) or “Blowing the Flute” (using Ma Rong to govern the post office without incident). Code), but can’t say “play the flute”. It can be seen from this that “Victoria Harbor Night Flute Playing” is also an example of “trivial and lame”.

As for the “Thousand-Year Song of the Holy Saint”, I also asked in the article on March 17: “Who is the “Holy Saint”? “The Holy Saint” has always been used only to refer to the saints of the series of Yao, Shun, Confucius and Mencius. , flattering others to the point of calling them “the Holy One”, and then selling advertisements publicly, it’s really a shame.” Now I ask Cai Ruiyi again: Who is praised in “The Thousand Years Song of the Holy One”? I also asked Lin Feng by the way: “Shun Yao was born in the world” and which leader is he praising? You can write such silly and interesting sentences, are you embarrassed to explain them?

This advertisement published by the “Hong Kong Poetry Society” is “big” and “playing the flute”. It is not fishy enough. It also has “Shun Yao” on the left and “Holy Saint” on the right. It is flattering. I am not ashamed to criticize you.” “Elegant” and “trivial” are totally reasonable. I just reviewed the preface and the two poems “President”, and I already felt that the style was vulgar and vulgar, making it difficult to read, let alone from now on!

To say that your poems are bad is because “you are afraid that Hong Kong will not be in chaos”. What kind of logic is this? I don’t know if this “Hong Kong Poetry Society” is a psychopath or a secondary school student, but I would like to remind you: According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, on April 7, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has issued the “Regulations on Carrying out Party Discipline Study and Education in the Whole Party” Notice” requires party committees at all levels to “do a good job in publicity and guidance, resolutely oppose formalism, and prevent “low-level redness” and “high-level blackness”.

Nowadays, there is a group of people who use the form of “poetry” to use “trivial and lame” clichés, mindless flattery, and blind praise. What is this if not “low-level red”? If you write poetry and don’t want to be criticized, then don’t publish it. If you are not convinced, you are welcome to continue advertising to refute, but remember to answer my questions above: What are “Daji”, “Chuixiao”, “Wild Fox”, “Holy Saint” and “Shun Yao”?
