It is understood that in the past few days, a large number of workers have been clearing fallen branches and trunks at the site of the blocked track of the Peak Tram, and conducting safety inspections and assessments at night. Photos leaked on social media show that the tree trunks that collapsed at the scene were very thick. This morning (24th), the Hong Kong Peak Tramway expressed its thanks on its official website: I would like to sincerely thank the government for the unremitting cross-departmental cooperation and the colleagues of the Peak Tram Engineering Department who worked all night for testing. After inspection and testing by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, the Peak Tramway has been completed. Service resumed today. (over)
