The application process for the “Special Support Subsidy for the First Batch of Postdoctoral Fellows in 2024” has now been launched. The “Ninth Corporate Service Day” activity “Application Training Seminar on Several Measures to Support Talent Development in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone” was held recently. Training was provided on the application procedures for doctoral and postdoctoral subsidies and living allowances for imported talents. Living allowance of up to RMB 800,000 attracts talents

In terms of application standards, postdoctoral fellows working at the Hengqin Postdoctoral Research Workstation, Workstation Branches and Innovation Practice Bases will be given an annual living allowance of 400,000 yuan (RMB, the same below) per person for two consecutive years. Postdoctoral fellows at the station who are deferred from the station due to projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Fund, the China Postdoctoral Science Fund, etc. due to undertaking major national projects will be given a one-time living subsidy of 100,000 yuan in the third year.

For postdoctoral fellows who stay (come) to start a business (work) in Hengqin, each person will be given a living subsidy of 120,000 yuan per year for five consecutive years. A living subsidy of RMB 270,000 per person will be given to doctors (or those with professional and technical qualifications of associate senior level or above), which will be paid in equal installments over three years.

Regarding the living subsidy for introduced talents, applicants can apply for the first subsidy if they have paid personal income tax and social insurance in Hengqin continuously for more than 6 months. Applicants who have paid personal income tax and social insurance continuously for more than 24 or 36 months can apply for the second and third subsidies. If the applicant interrupts payment of social insurance premiums due to changing work units, the cumulative payment interruption allowed shall not exceed 3 months.
