[Reporter Dong Baiting/Reporting from Taipei]”One Shot: Instant Photography Exhibition of International Famous Photographers” co-curated by the National Taiwan Normal University, the American Photography Exhibition Foundation, and the MIT Museum will be held from now until June 7 , exhibited at the Normal University Art Museum. The exhibition brings together Andy for the first time. Andy Warhol, Guy. Guy Bourdin, Chuck. Chuck Close, Barbara. Barbara Crane, Robert. Robert Mapplethorpe, Gus. There are more than 300 instant photography works by 120 artists, including Gus Van Sant.

The exhibition has nine themes, namely “Observation”, “Architectural Structure”, “Inquiry”, “Impression”, “Expression”, “Theatre”, “Display”, “Contemplation”, “Speed/Insight/Real-time Imaging/ “Evanescent/Innovative” and so on. Photographic works created by artists using Polaroid cameras are displayed on three floors of the museum.

Ellen Carey’s “CMY” deliberately pulled out the photographic paper before fixing, allowing the developer to flow over it, creating four colors of cyan, pink, and yellow in the upper half and all black in the lower half. The block, with gear indentations nicknamed “Tulips” left on it, is an artistic practice of “Photography Degree Zero”. Its technique of expression is abstract and does not refer to specific regions, people or objects, bringing the audience a pure artistic perception.
The National Normal University Art Museum pointed out that this work of staggering size, larger than the normal size of an average desktop, is from Polaroid’s largest camera of the same size. This giant model was nearly 150 centimeters tall and weighed hundreds of kilograms. Artists invited at the time had to go to Polaroid studios in New York, Massachusetts and other places to use it.
The research and development files, models, and test photos presented alongside the creation of photographic works reveal the little-known evolutionary trajectory behind Polaroid’s 70-year legend.You can also see the affordable fixed-focus camera Big Shot and I-Zone camera-related items at the exhibition.
